Independence Day

June 12, 2019

Every 12th of June, Independence Day is celebrated. This is to celebrate our freedom from Spain’s reign for 333 years.

Spain arrived in our country 300 years ago to discover our island full of spices and treasures. They decided to colonize our country and spread their religion which is Catholic. Wars and revolts were engaged during the time of the Spaniard’s colonization and our country had men die on the hands of the Spaniards. Then Dr. Jose Rizal our national hero ignited the hearts of the Filipinos with his works Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo where our country’s folks decided to end the reign of the Spaniards with the help of the Americans thus ending the colonizers dynasty

Our country celebrates this day in a way that we remember that we have our freedom on our hands and is not oppressed by any colonizers. Students and pupils are tasked to do specific things connected with the independence day like writing an essay on how important this day is or doing a project about this day.

Freedom is very important to its country because it eliminates war and oppression from the other country. These days, freedom is seen everywhere but there are still bad guys who wants to disturb the freedom that we breath thus each country will always be protecting the freedom they currently have, I mean who doesn’t want freedom?
